Australian actress in Hollywood Cate Blanchett was selected as a head of jury to the 71st Cannes Film Festival, 2018. Cate Blanchett is a two-time Oscar-winning actor who is prominent in a Hollywood campaign against sexual harassment in the workplace after a broke of a famous scandal about Harvey Weinstein. Cate will become the 12th woman to lead the prestigious panel at Cannes this year in May. "We're very pleased to welcome a rare and unique artist with talent and conviction": - said Cannes president Pierre Lescure and delegate general Thierry Fremaux. In 2017 the head of Cannes jury was Pedro Almodovar, and the winner of the festival became the tragicomedy of Henry James "The Square". The film is nominated on Oscars Foreign Film section in 2018.
